Fleetside VS Wideside

Looking through the GMC Illustration Book for info for a member, I came across the page with the boxes on it and it was marked Wide side. Therefore shall we assume that Chevy had the Fleetside and GMC had the Wide Side?
I looked in the Chevrolet Special Illustrations book and it states Fleetside

This is from Mitchell which states Wide Side as well.

Re: Fleetside VS Wideside

And a Stepside is listed as "Regular Pickup"

The 65 sales literature lists Wide Side and Fenderside

Re: Fleetside VS Wideside

I have heard of that before, but the words "Fleetside" and "Step Side" have just stuck through the years, for both makes.

Re: Fleetside VS Wideside

Chevy used the names fleetside and stepside, GMC used the names wideside and fenderside, Ford used the names styleside(fleetside) and flareside(stepside), And Dodge used the name sweptside and sweptline(both meant fleetside) and utiline(stepside).
