What should I offer on a '68 swb LS swap? - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

A LQ9 mated to a 4L65E to be exact. I've been eyeing this truck for a while. A couple of bubbles on a corner of a door, Wilwood master cylinder, Classic Instrument gauges, Doug Thorley headers. Everything works and is currently his daily driver. Stock suspension, drums and 6 lugs all the way around. Needs carpet and maybe bench seat recovered. (I'd change everything to saddle anyway) Not real crazy about the color and the Line X'd bed. He's asking $13k. He said he'd take $11.5k. I'm thinking of offering $9.5k. What do you guys think? Still too much or not enough? Drivetrain has about 60k miles.

Not a bad truck. With having to install heat and a/c and finishing the interrior. I would think about 7500.00 to 8500.00 would be a good buy.

I would start around $8K. You can always go up from there

With what one of the swaps costs to do right that's a good price IMO.
I wouldn't sell mine for 11.5.

7500 maybe. There will be more rust bubbles pop up.

If it truely runs and drives shifts good and it doesn't look terrible I'd say $6-8 but I wouldn't go much more than that. It appears he has cut A LOT OF corners...heater boxes can be bought for ~$100 or at least bolt in a $10 piece of metal for a block off plate for the firewall. Obviously he cut corners when it was painted but not fixing the rust properly...food for thought. Remember it is not the only one out there...personally I would but one from a board member...at least they know these trucks and will be honest with you about the work.
