Help! Front end gear ratio Id
I have what I think is a front end out of a '87 truck. It is a 10 bolt 3/4 ton (8 lug) front. Does anyone know the gear ratio by decoding the # on the axle tube? The #'s are WY G 1 252 1
Thanks, Dennis |

There should be a small metal tag on one of the cover bolts that will give you a ratio-----but the most common gear in those years was 3.73. Other than that you may have to pull the cover and look for the numbers on the ring gear.

Did the truck have ab auto or manual? If auto could be 3.08.
