Door Won't Open, Help

Today I was at the garage where I keep my 72 and tried to open the passenger door and it wouldn't open. I thought I may have hit the button and locked it so I went inside and the button wont move up or down and the inside door handle wont work either so I can't get my door open. Has this happened to anyone else or does any one know why it would do that out of the blue. I was at the truck 3 days ago and the door worked as it should.

Re: Door Won't Open, Help

All I can suggest is take the door panel off and see if you can figure out what's wrong. sound like a problem with the latch as both the inside handle and the outside handle are not working.

It will be a PITA to get the door panel off, you might need to pull the seat out.

fun..fun...fun.

Mine did the same thing. I had to take it apart and lube it.

I am lucky in one way because I havent bolted my seat down yet so it will be easy to take out of the truck to get at the dor panel. You almost couldn't get the
seat bolts undone with the door closed.

Wink Re: Door Won't Open, Help

Either the door handle button has broke the tabs off on the inside of the door are the rod that attaches the door handle on the inside has fallen off are something broke on the door latch.
The outside door handle pushes the latch itself so I would think the latch has failed in some way.
For both not to operate the latch that's my guess.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
