Need lowering advice
Well, finally started to lower my 72 the correct way. Old springs were heated and poorly at that. I bought McGaugheys 2.5 lowered spindles and 2 inch lowered springs. All is good, except my tires are touching the inner fender wells. I have 255 70 15 tires all the way around. Im thinking of just getting a spring spacer one inch thick. Not really sure what to do. Spacer, different springs, or tire size change. Any advice. I love the height of where it is at right now.

You probably need to get a lower profile tire in the front. I have 2.5 drop spindles and 2" lower springs. No rubbing with 265/50/15. However, I'm going to change to 275/60/15 in front to gain some additional ground clearance. The 275s are only 1/4" wider than the 265s. The 60 series is 1.75" taller than the 50 series and won't rub.

Just had that thought and ran out to the garage and took the 255 60 15's off of my 87 and we have no rub. Thing that sucks is I just bought the 255 70's. Like always, all my good plans go to waste. The 255 60's are very low ground clearance, so I will look into the sizes you mentioned.
