47 striker and 52 door latch??

I have a 1947 Cab with the original door strikers and 52 vent window doors that have the original latches, I suspect? The doors don't close real tight and the latch catch is pretty worn.

Can I buy 47 latches are they interchangeable with the door or just by 52 replacement latches?

The 47 striker and the 52 latch are not compatible. Entirely different system. You will need a striker from 52-55 to make the door close properly.

If the handles are push button type they are 52 and up. I would buy a 52 striker plate and keep the buttons. They don't sag!

Re: 47 striker and 52 door latch??

It would indeed be a lot simpler to get the 52 and up strikers and install them.
The first real body work I ever did when I was young was straightening the cab on my grandfather's 48 Chev 1 ton flatbed after he rolled it two miles from the house and gettng the 52/53 drivers door he bought for it to fit. I remember we had to go back to the same wrecking yard he got the door from to get the striker. That truck ended up being push button on the drivers side and twist down on the passenger side with a vent window on the drivers side and one piece on the passenger side.

They're push button door handles and the strikers don't have adjustable screw holes. Looks like 52+ strikers is the way to go, should bolt right up same holes?

I'm not 100% sure, but i would think that the mounting holes for the strikers are the same.
