Re: Assembly plant question 1963

Fremont assembly plant in California was H on '63's and '64's. In '65, Fremont was changed to Z.

I wonder if the old Chevy Fremont plant is the one that is now being used by Tesla. I drove by it the other day.

Re: Assembly plant question 1963

Wonder why Fremont wasn`t added in the truck data book? Did they produce cars as well and were not considered a truck plant?

Re: Assembly plant question 1963

This should answer it. Early 63's were built in Oakland when the book was published. http://www.ultra-high-compression.com/fremont-tour.html

Re: Assembly plant question 1963

Im pretty sure my 63 was an O town truck. I had a hard time finding the o or 0 in the vin on the plant directory - lookup thing. My '64 was a Fremont truck though. Tesla has that plant and supposedly were only using about 1/4 of it for the 4 door they're building. The rest is supposed to be for the " Prius Killer" and an SUV that are in the works.
