Help lowering front 5 inches

I am interested in lowering the front of my 65 5 inches on the cheap.ideas please without spindles.

Nothing cheap, if your going to do it, do it right. 2.5 drop spindles and 3" drop springs. Spindles and bags, either way.

He's right. I'm as cheap as it gets HAHA but I went with 2.5 drop spindles and 2" drop coils...So I guess technically not 5, but pretty damn close. I'm going with air ride later

I cut 1 & 3/4 off the front of my 66 GMC's. I removed the rubber stops and trimmed off the perches. Looking under the truck, it is about as low as you can go on the cheap. If you do drop it that much, you will have to change out the shocks because they will bottom out, FYI.

I know they sell 3" drop coils. I have only rode in 1 vehicle with cut coils and it wasnt very good ride. Either buy the springs, buy the spindles or just forget about it.

Yeah in my case just curious on a aftermarket spring only drop, not cut. I should have been clearer.

Super cheap heat the springs with a torch. I wouldn't recommend it.

X2 I don't recommend it either, if you don't have the money save it until you
can do it the right way. You will be much safer on the road and safer for others

My fronts are cut and it hits hard on almost any bump. I'll be putting springs spindles and discs up front next year. I might get some shocks for now and then use them next year with the new set up. Everyone is right, save up and do it right and you won't be disappointed. Do it cheap (wrong) and you will be disappointed and dangerous.

I have cut the last two C10's and it rides great. On the first truck, I too thought that I was bottoming out. via. lower control arm, but I wasn't. My shocks were. The compressed length was too short. I replaced the shocks with a shorter compressed length and voila the ride was great, no bottoming out.

Just remember that if you go down 5" in the front, the lower control arm height to the ground become the bigger issue. I've had them this way, but you have to change your driving habits and be very mindful of what's ahead in the road and react accordingly. When you bash the lower control arms off of the ground at 55 mph, that gets your attention quickly. And it beats the LCAs to death.

Low=slow.......

I have run cut springs for over 30 years..........never once have a issue.
but use 3/4 ton springs

ive cut a frw trucks and never had a problem smooth. cut two turns , removed the rubber snubber and bracket. the moved the upper shock mount up higher.
