does this weatherstripping belong
I have removed old weather stripping from the tailgate and the liftgate, and noticed these two little pieces on the body of the suburban. 99% sure they don't belong there, but I don't have another suburban around to compare it to. can somebody confirm this

Not on mine. I have seen people put the stick on type to try and stop some rattles.

I forgot to reply to this thread. Yes, I have the exact same foam tape in the exact same area.
I assumed a previous owner installed it cut down on tailgate rattles.

Just as the others have stated already.
From the factory, 67-72 burb rear door weatherstrip was glued to the doors. Not the body.
