Cruise control suggestions

I am in the planning stages of an LS 5.3 swap (engine on the way). It is a drive by wire 2005 which makes adding cruise control easy, just a few wires to connect to some switches.

I am looking for suggestions on either a turn signal stalk with the set/accel/coast switches and wires I could replace my directional stalk with (or connect/weld to my original). I am even open to something I could mount on the dash, console?

Come on you creative people. I know some of you have just the idea I am looking for.

This is what I went with ...

I don't need anything to control the cruise. The PCM from the 5.3 LS engine will do that. I need an no/off switch with the 3 momentary set/accel/coast switches for the turn signal lever. Dakota digital does have some switches they include with their kit that look like what I am looking for, I wonder if they will sell them seperately?

HND-1 - Universal Cutoff Handle - Secures to existing turn signal handle shaft.




HND-2 - Dash Mount Switch - Can be secured to or under dash for hidden operation. Unit Meaures 2" wide by 1-3/8" high





HND-3 - Replacement GM Handle - Secures with single screw through flat end.





HND-4 - GM "Push In" Handle - For most post '80 GM columns without Wiper Controls.

I used this handle and bolted it right in for my Rostra CC set up in my 70. For my 72 Tahoe I will be using the same switch for my 2005 5.3L D.B.W as well.

You can buy just the handle but I could not find it quickly.

That is exactly what I am looking for! If you should happen to find just that handle listed somewhere or find a part number please keep me in mind. If I get to the point I need it I guess I could call flaming river or summit.

Make sure you research open vs. closed circuit cruise control circuits. Most of these stalks will NOT work. I'm in the middle of this and ended up buying a push button set up and will mount it on the dash or somewhere else.

That's what I'll be using too....have it installed on the column and I'm about to hook it up to the TAC box.

Where are you mounting your TAC box? PCM? Any pics? I'm getting real close to starting mine and want as much info and ideas as I can get.

Where are you getting the pins for the TAC box or are you connecting to the factory wires from the donor truck?

which push button setup and how did you wire it? I have a rostra switch and cannot get it to work

The factory hand throttle works, if you still have the stock pedal, but isn't the safest route.
The brick idea might be a little worse, especially with that turbo.
