Well Looky looky what I've got!

Courtesy of my wife who had to make a business trip to your side of the water. A full set of brake hydraulics, four new wheel cylinders, new master cylinder, new flexi hoses, brake hose clips and a full set of new drum brake fitting hardware plus a set of hinge pin repair kits for the doors on my 01 blazer (which the goons of the TSA have opened and lost several parts from, tossers!) Cylinders are all either bendix or AC Delco, brake hardware stuff is Wagner and hoses are bendix and raybestos so all decent branded stuff from rockauto.

Gonna get brake pipes made up locally in Kunifer tubing as there's a company that will give me a discount for using my old pipes as a template to add to their catalogue. These will go on once I've addressed all the other outstanding issues I need to sort along with converting from manual to power drums.

Nice! I just fought it out with my rear drums a couple of weeks ago. The battle isn't over yet as my parking brakes are still stuck.

Oh! I didn't see where you are from! Wow!

In my opinion, the TSA is a joke at best and a bully at worst. I guarantee, that if I am allowed to exercise my rights, there isn't a terrorist alive that would hijack me or anything I am on (and not end up with several .45 caliber holes in them).

Yes, do show us some pics! And how did you get this Chevy? Is it right-hand drive?

Re: Well Looky looky what I've got!

My truck is a LWB fleetside that left the factory in Fremont as a plain jane left hand drive truck with a straight six under the hood and not much in the way of options, manual brakes, no front swaybar, no A/C although it does have a sliding rear window.

I bought it about 11 years ago from a guy in the UK who'd owned it for a few years also buying it in the UK. At some point by then it had gained a nice 350 and a host of previous owner bodges. As the guy I bought it from was in Sussex, an area that has historically had quite a large number of US airbases I suspect it may have come across with a serviceman at some point.

She was my daily driver for a few years and then some niggling problems took her off the road where she's been since, mainly due to little things like kids coming along, a house move and so on. During that time work has progressed in fits and starts. I repaired/replaced the kick panel, inner and outer rocker, door pillar bottom and floor edge on the worst side, have replaced the starter with a mini starter (one of the original problems) dumped the stock cast iron intake for a performer eps, converted the pita mallory twin point dizzy with a pertronix ignitor kit as an HEI dizzy won't fit because the engine is in the six cylinder position and it fouls the bulkhead so much it won't drop in. Oh and I also rewired the engine with a new loom from M&H. I also replaced the rear half of the exhausts as they'd somewhat embarrasingly dropped off one day whilst I was driving, annoying as the only deent bit was the chrome tips and as they exit in front of the rear tires I conveniently mancaged to drive over them when they landed! New rear shocks and brake shoes. I also have a power brake setup to add and a much better electric fan conversion to go in to replace the bodged on small fan from some japanese car. The new one will be controlled by a derale fan controller rather than just a manual switch and will have an aluminium cowl. I also managed to find a period fibreglass camper shell to protect the bed.

Fast forward to today and we're at a different house, kids are growing fast and I'm trying to find time to get her back on the road.

Here she is at our last house having a chat with my current daily driver, an 01 S10 blazer (now this one IS right hand drive and a UK market car)

Re: Well Looky looky what I've got!

I bet that truck really stands out going down the road. And,I'm not referring to the color (necessarily).
