Any one using a hidden radio antenna that works

I'm looking for a antenna for my stereo and from what i've read a lot don't work well,?is there any one that has one that does?

Sort of hidden. Extends when the radio is switched on.
Retracts when key or radio is turned off.

i used the cheapest antenna from autozone and wire tied it under my pass step, works great.
i slid some plastic tube over it so as not to ground the antenna to the metal.

I have used a bunch of those. The best one I found was the one with the fiberglass wings on it. I found that routing the wire that connects it across the dash length wises (because it affects signal as well) and keep em from the battery cables due to static and they work fine. You cant bury them under a bunch of crap and they like to be mounted closest to the top of the dash as possible.

I did the same, thanks to the idea from ogre. Mines mounted under the passenger side running board. Works fine.

i tried under the dash and did not get much reception
under the step is out of view and outside of the truck
as youngrodder confirms, it works well
