Not sure if you'll ever achieve the same ride as a new truck. Not without dumping a serious amount of money into it. That said, making the truck ride quieter than it was when new is very do-able. I'm budget minded and I used "Grace - Ice and Watershield" (which is a roofing product) to deaden and waterproof the cab. Anyone that tells you it's going to smell simply doesn't know what they're talking about. The product is a fraction of the price of the "named" deadeners. With the interior now finished, I can say it's way better than it ever was new. A decent sound system helps too. Coming from a big block owner, the sound was one of the main reasons to have the truck. I wouldn't want it so quiet I couldn't hear it. That's my 2 cents.
