Wiring on '87 In-Tank Pump

Im trying to figure out the wiring on a '87 in tank fuel pump. There are 3 simple wires with the black one being the ground and it has one weatherpack plug. I know that the wires are one for the sending unit and the other for power to the pump but I do not know which is which. There is a purple and a gray wire and I just need to know which is which before I do some re-wiring and such. Thanks a lot

Well its close but it doesnt tell me which wire does what. Its not dual tanks just a single 20 gallon tank on the drivers side. What Ive done is on my 84 GMC I put Howell TBI fuel injection on the truck and Ive put a tank and pump assembly from a 87 truck on it and wiring it up so the pump and all will be in the tank and not have to run a inline fuel pump.

Purple or Pink are for sender, Gray or Brown are for 12V+. Colors are dependent on which side the tank is on.

on my 87 crewcab, the pink one is the sender, grey one is the electric fuel pump.
