I have never seen any kind of spacer on a seat track. Probably some adjusting by the po.

Re: 71-72 bench seat problem

that's what I thought.but I cant figure out why my seat back frame is touching gas tank on bottom but I have a 3 inch gap between frame and rear of cab.all trucks I've seen go all the way back to back window/cab.the seat back frame had a 1970 seat cover on it but seat bottom is definatly a 71-72 frame.because I ordered a 1970 upholstery and it would'nt fit.{too short}.so I had to buy a 1971-72 seat cover for it to fit the seat frame.I hope someone can help me also with this..thank you for your reply.

Got any pics of the seat tracks?
You may have mis-matched tracks for the year seat frame you have?
There are 3 different seat tracks;
67-68
69-70
71-72

Re: 71-72 bench seat problem

Does your seat back fold up toward front or is it fixed?

Re: 71-72 bench seat problem

I checked the tracks from that post and they are 71-72 seat tracks and the seat back is stationary. are the seat back frames the same from 69-72?

I couldn't tell you for sure about just the "seat backs".
The seat bottoms have to match the seat tracks.
67-68, 69-70 or 71-72
