Looking for a place to buy replacement brakes

My 71 gmc has the worst brakes ever. One drags to the point it over heats one locks up and one doesn't even work. If I hit the brakes at 40 it heads straight for the ditch. I resealed the rear cylinders last year and they were pitted. The still leak, obviously. I would like to replace everything including the master cylinder, proportional valve and hoses. Where is a good place for a one stop shop?

You can get all that from NAPA. Their quality tends to be higher than most other parts places. You'll pay a bit more though. That's definitely worth it for things like the wheel cylinders. You can save a little getting the shoes from autozone. I believe the master cylinders are a real good deal at Oreillys, and they're rebuilt original parts. I tend to mix and match to get a good price point, but then pay a premium for certain things like USA made wheel cylinders at napa

You might want to take a look at RockAuto.com. You can definitely save some $$$ on the parts, but be careful of shipping charges. If everything doesn't ship from one location, shipping charges could wipe out any savings.

Another place is Amazon.com. They should have everything you need and if you're not in a hurry shipping will be free. I rebuilt the rear brakes on my '72 and purchased from Amazon. Only issue is everything but one brake drum showed up together. I had to wait a few more days for the other drum.

I only use Raybestos professional grade brake parts. Try to find a Federated parts store in your area. They should be able to get you everything. Rockauto.com has good deal but I agree. ^ shipping a bunch of parts can get spendy. I've had zero luck with the junk you get from the big chain parts stores.

I tried them all and for drum brake parts NAPA is the best but they have different price range parts you have to get the higher priced ones from NAPA and you will have good brakes ,
