Exclamation gas vs. diesel 700r4 help asap

I have a chance to get a solid 700r4 for my 77 c10.

The trans I am looking at getting came out of a early 80's c10 with a diesel engine in it. will this trans work with my sbc? if the convertor is diffrent i can get a new one also. more worried about bell housing bolts and the output shaft teeth.

They should be the same exept the converter. If you want to be 100% sure I can look at my 700r4 from my 6.2 but I don't know when I will be down there

ok thank you insidious. like i said I can get a new stall convertor for a 700r4 sbc.
any idea if the diesel one is stronger due to the tq that the engine puts out?

and one last thing what do I need to change on my lwb truck to use the 700r4? drive shaft/trans mount? I know i will need a TV cable and bracket for carb

If you had a th350 long shaft it will swap in just move the crossmember, rearwards I believe

As for being stronger I'm not sure. They are calibrated for a lower rpm diesel so a shift reprogramming kit along with a torque converter should do it. A corvette servo shift kit should make it last pretty well with a stronger motor in front of it
And i can't comment in wether or not they had less clutches inside like the v6 versions as I'm not sure entirely but I would lean toward the internals being the same.
