Talking Should this have been a warning?

I've been working on getting "Blu" a reliable driver. Right now I'm 2 for 3 with problems out on rides (the second to last one required a tow home when the ignition went out). I went out last night (with my wife chasing me in our Tahoe of course) and Blu made it all the way home under her own power which is a monumental step.

Here's the question- should this tag on the key I got have been a warning?

That's just a secondary warning. When the tow company follows you around instead of the wife...then you have problems!

The title of the post should have been "Never buy a used truck with this tag... on ignition key."

I agree, it should have been some sort of warning.

Well, the seller was going on and on about all the money he spent of repairs, new carb, tuneup, hoses and belt...All 5 yrs ago! I told him "I really don't care about the mechanical, I can cover all that- I am just looking for a clean body." I guess I got what I wanted but it's way easier for me to wrench on it than to fix panels. I'm a good mechanic, but questionable body man if it gets much past remove and replace. I just look forward to going out for a drive without wondering if there will be another problem. If you want to drive an old truck you get old truck problems I guess.

In hindsight, I guess so. You'll get it all sorted out soon.

I just came back from another drive. Ran good and made it all the way back home. If I get another ride like this I'll start getting brave.

It feels like something is off on partial throttle - almost like it is missing a bit. Still might be able to do some tuning. The plug wires are in pretty crappy shape. They're fairly new but nicked and burnt in spots. I've not touched the carb or new distributor either. They're still as they were when they both came out of the box.

He has a side business making (really good) salsa. We're going to take a drive up there with the truck this fall and get more of it. I'll get the numbers then. WTH, our numbers never seem to work.
