Finally test drove the 70

After getting the hood aligned, grill back on, and getting the lights and indicators working. I was able to drive it. The only problem is that I almost had it floored and I couldn't get her over 55. No strange noises or smoke. I got an hei, new carburetor, and water pump but, I hadn't had any problems before. Does anyone have any idea where to start?

Always check to see if your carb is opening all the way. Have someone sit inside and floor it with the engine not running and see if there is still any movement in the throttle at the carb. This has happened to me as I was on the floor and the carb was only have open!

Also check you timing if it is retarded it could slow you way down. Good luck.

Is it up shifting? I had a turbo 400 stick in a low gear once and had the same problem.

It a 3 speed 3/4 ton with 4:10 gear ratio. I no it's not ment for speed but I need to get it to go highway speeds.
