I believe that the cross sills are different on a wood floor and a steel floor aren't they? I maybe getting some from teeitup and both of us are not quite sure. Could ya shed some light on this for me? This for a short fleetside.

The ones for the wood bed should have the hole in them where the bedwood and Strips mount. THe steel floor ones do not have them and should show where they were spot welded to the floor. I also think the wood floor wer a little bit more narrow. Don't have anything to measure for you right now.

The steel bed cross sills are welded to the bed floor so if you have some loose ones either somebody cut them off of the steel floor or they are from a wood bed. I can't tell you if they are the same or not though. I'd have to check. I've got both here.

Wood bottom bed strips are different than the steel bottom ones are. The height is different and the way they mount are different. The tall wood bottom sills are 2 3/8" tall, and the tall steel bottom ones are 3 1/4" tall. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

Is the main bolt up pattern different on a wood bed and a metal bed? I have a wood long bed on the truck and just wanted to swap to a metal bed. I thought they would just bolt up. I believe my wood bed has 6 bolts that holds it to the frame.
