Fuse block melted...Time to rewire...Which Harness though?
Help a brother out would ya... If you have any experience with harnesses I would appreciate your input. Looking for the easiest kit. The truck will have an E-fan and a nice stereo. Later maybe a/c and power windows. So far I've looked at EZ, GEM Street Rod, Ron Francis and Painless. Pros/Cons?

Re: Fuse block melted...Time to rewire...Which Harness though?
I used American Auto Wire classic upgrade kit. Was not cheap but very easy and plenty of extra wires for upgrades. I would use them again as the need arises.

I have an American Autowire as well. Have not used it yet though. It looks pretty nice from what I can tell by just looking at it.

I installed a Painless wiring kit p/n 10206 and it has everything you need. Had no problems hooking everything up. Comes prewired for stereo.

Re: Fuse block melted...Time to rewire...Which Harness though?
I have the ez wiring 21 circ kit and it is great, you get the quality for half the price. I only paid 150 and there is more wire than you will ever need labeled every 6", goog quality wire to boot. It has the basics like horn relay, flashers and colum/ head light plugs. The only thing is the directions are not overly helpful. They assume you know a little about wiring. But the important stuff is there. And lets face it wire that is labeled every 6" is hard to mess up. I just could not see an extra 150$+ of value in the other kits. Just my .02

Re: Fuse block melted...Time to rewire...Which Harness though?
'Lectric Limited and M&H are both good. I think both will do "upgrades" in the engine compartment like later alternator and HEI. I strongly recommend a factory harness for a basic build. If you go aftermarket Painless style you have to have patience and tools to do it right. You have to be willing to route and protect and find all the right ends to get a good product. By the time you do all that, you are much better off buying one that is done.
