cut out stock steering wheel?



i saw that on http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=39409
and it looks like somebody cut out part of the steering wheel. just thought it was weird.

I think it's just worn badly I 've seen a few like that in junkers over time they REALLY crumble to pieces...

yup. THe one ton had steering wheel rot when i got it. That's one of the many reasons that wheel hit the dumpster pretty quickly.

i didnt know they rotted. it looked cut bc both sides look like they rotted the same

That looks like the one I pulled off my truck. While my uncle still owned the truck he tapped it with a McDonalds straw and this happened...

What you are seeing is a steering wheel where all the plastic has fallen off. I had a 72 where the plastic had cracked on the rim. I was making a turn and let the wheel slide thru my hand as I came back straight and a sharp edge on the plastic sliced my finger. It was deep but not deep enough for stitches.
