Floor jack won't lift

I've got an old NAPA 2 ton floor jack that has recently quit on me. I'm sure it's 20+ years old but has served me well over the last few years. It worked great and then the last time I went to use it nothing happens. I also noticed the cap for the jack oil is missing now, but the oil is still full. Is there a fix? A few people have told me "it just needs an o-ring" but I'm not about to just tear into my floor jack not knowing what I'm looking for. I'd like to fix it if possible and figured I could get some help here. Thanks

Re: Floor jack won't lift

I've rebuild a dozen of them, most of the import jacks just need a u-cup. Problem is where to get one. I've tried NAPA to rebuild a NAPA jack...no luck there. You need to find a hydraulic repair shop locally and see if they can get you one. Usually less than $20 to fix any jack, o-rings and u-cup,and no more than a couple hours of your time. If you get it apart and get in trouble just PM me and I'll try to walk you through it. I know you can take it apart and put it back together to save 50 bucks......

Re: Floor jack won't lift

Ok. I might tear into it this weekend and see how it goes.
