'73 aftermarket grill
I would like to change my grill on my '73 SWB to a billet bar style grill. Seems to me from all the pics I've seen that the grill sits flush with the trim. If that's the case how do you open the hood? That would put the handle behind the grill.

Does are probably meant more for 75-80 trucks 74-75-76 wont work, unless you maybe you cut the top bar where the hinge release would be idk do

There is a relocation bracket that mounts the release behind the bumper.

Thanks. I'll have to try and locate a source for the relocation kit. Want to get rid of the egg crate grill

Im trying 2 find who makes it. I saw stacey david install one on the show gearz. It was on the 73 chevy knuckle buster truck. Looked like a long oiece of threaded rod that he attached to the release and ran down to the bumper. Just reach down and push up and it released. You could prob make your own cheaper.

Here is a picture of my '73 with a tube-type grille and I just reach between the 1st and 2nd bar and lift up on handle. As far as I know, there is no additional handles.

Yea on those fatter tube grills its not a big deal. On the newer ones the bars are really close together and I dont think you can really reach through.

Here is another pic to show that it is two-tone. The grille was on the truck when I bought it for a parts truck. The grille is not pristine, some discoloration on it. If you are interested, I'll take some closer pics in the next day or two.

I've been looking at the grills from brothers and LMC. I'm also going to check if classic parts has one.
