When do you need drop shocks?
Hey guys, need some guidance, Im looking to lower my truck 3.5 inches in the front using 2.5 drop spindles, and a 1 inch spring. Do i need to order a drop shock or is a stock height okay? any help is awesome!!...ohh and another thing, i just installed my cpp 1 inch springs, and for some reason, the truck looks like its sitting higher? lol, Is this normal, because the spring is new?

Re: When do you need drop shocks?
I have the same set up on my 71 GMC (2.5" spindle 1" spring) and you can use the stock shock size. I used Monroe Sensa-Tracs and they are cushy soft. The new spring will settle a little over time but will probably be a little higher than just an old spring. Make sure you have them seated properly top and bottom or they can be up a little more, I had to re-seat mine when I replaced the ball joints and now they're perfect. With a flip kit (rear leaf) I sit almost perfectly level.
