too much seat? or ?

i just had my seat restored, new back and bottom foam, cover and installed it to find im too close to the steering wheel!. now i know i need to get rid of my beer belly but i think the foam might be oversized. its also very stiff! so, when the steering column is in "non tilt" position i get a measurement of 14 1/4" from bottom of steering wheel to just touching the seat at a level measurement. thats after i pushed the column in 1".
can you please give me a measurement of your trucks?

question #2 .. is a non tilt column any closer to the dash??
