aftermarket bedsides?

I know some of the other aftermarket parts don't fit right and was wondering about shortbed bed sides? Also are there several companies making these and who might make the cleanest ones. thanks Rick

Re: aftermarket bedsides?

I bought some Goodmark bedsides (do not know which of the companies actually made them though) and they were a poor fit. The bed floor fit fine but the drivers side bedside was too long! The lower front corner hits the cab corner no matter how much shimming you do. Now I am going to have to section the bedside to make it fit.

Re: aftermarket bedsides?

I've always heard positive things about bed sides. Even Stacey David said you need to make some holes bigger and takes some time but in the end a nice product. Maybe I'm optimistic because I have a complete new bed in boxes (hope it fits well)

I have bought some Goodmark parts and was not happy at all with the quality. I bought Mar-K bedsides for my stepside and they were just as good as GM. I believe they are made in the US. I personally would look for good used GM or NOS. Alot of these parts, but not all, are made overseas, and we know about the quality control! .02

Re: aftermarket bedsides?

Goodmark doesn't make the bedsides. IIRC,there still is only one company doing these. I only know good things on the bed body panels. Do you want to use the bedside(s) on a factory bed or go with complete new bed? I'm not sure about mix & match, but complete beds go together nicely.

I have used them, and in my experience, they were extremely nice!

Re: aftermarket bedsides?

I bought some from LMC for my shortbed stepside and they fit well. Not sure who made them. The only problem I had was the mounting holes for the tail lights brackets were not drilled.
