New carb shelve life
I hope you guys don't mind me asking so many questions. Any way the truck I bought came with a new 1405 eldebrock carb. Bad part is the guy bought it 11 years ago. Do I need to rebuild or?

Re: New carb shelve life
If it hasn't been used it will last virtually forever. If it's been run 11 years ago, then sat,and seems to run ok now then it's fine. Otherwise,it has hardened fuel which clogs ports and will need work. If it's not installed,it's easy enough to mount up and try.

Re: New carb shelve life
I would not rebuild it yet. Bolt it on and give it a try. If you have any issues, I believe it will be that the accelerator pump may not like ethenol fuel and will have to be replaced. But I would try it first.
