Well, I wasn't saying it was "THE BEST YEAR" I was simply stating it had the most votes according to the title.

Re: Which were the best years?

While I would love to vote for my year (65), I think 66 is the choice. The 64-66 styling, with the 327!

I have always favored the 327 especially with an edelbrock 4 barrel and headers!

The 12-bolt rear axle housing is a one-year only deal, but internals interchange with later years.

I personally dig the four-headlight grills; the '62 grill headlights look like a bad compromise, while the '63 grill has a modern big, single bulb and a good looking grill.

Re: Which were the best years?

My granddad had a 65 or 66 that I loved to ride around in. Miss both him and the truck.

My dad bought his 1961 truck in about 1966 or 67. Been in the family since then.

I know a lot of guys don't like the 60 and 61 hoods...but they are so unique in that you just don't see them around anymore.

I'm voting for the 61 for the sake of nostalgia...but honestly, I like them all!

One thing I wish the 66 had was the wrap around wind shield.

Re: Which were the best years?

do you think the 66 's are more voted because the earlier years are getting harder to find parts for? did they produce more of the 66 than previous years?

Yeah, probably because the 66 is the easiest to find parts for.
