Whats this

Size:  64.5 KB[/ATTACH] I recently changed my fuel filter it was the cheep kind as seen in the pic. Well I decided I wanted to see what was inside of it. The other pic is the filter what is the light brown crusty stuff on it. It was shaking out the filter the stuff was coming out in little pieces.

To me it looks to be a really clean filter...the brown stuff looks like glue...maybe broken down from time or cheap garbage...I'd assume the other end of the filter was the inlet and is open in the center. ..scary tho tha t the filter glue I s breaking down and prolly getting in ur carb....I'd go with a clear plastic filter in line.

Glue. Cheap maybe, or old, but its glue. Its supposed to seal the filter inside the canister so the fuel flows through the element not around it. I'm not a fan of that style filter, there are better options even for a low cost one.

Yep, glue. Wonder if that's what happens with ethanol fuel.

It's best not to cheap out on fuel filters with today's garbage fuel.
