Carb adapter plate?
Does anyone know who makes a carb adapter plate for a holley sqaure bore? The one that I purchased from summit is incorrect. The manifold is a edelbrock 2101 spread bore. I checked holleys website and I cant seem to find anything.
Thanks |

Edelbrock makes a 1/8" thick metal plate to bolt a squarebore carb on their #2101 manifold....i picked one up at O'Reilly's for like $5. Check their webiste for the part number.
You don't need a full allumium like 1" thick adapter because the intake is dual pattern. You can even bolt the Holley on the manifold without the adapter plate, but you will proably get vaccum leaks at the carb base gasket after awhile. I went through that with my truck (performer 2101 and 1406 squarebore carb) until i bought the Edelbrock adapter plate

Thanks I will check it out. If I mount the carb directly to the manifold it wont open up all the way and gets hung. Do you remember the part number for the plate?

Is the linkage hitting the manifold or something? The base of the intake should be more than big enough for a Holley. Is the carb gasket big enough to allow the blades to open? I have bought base gaskets before that had to be trimmed so the throttle blades could be opened all the way.
Sorry, i don't remember the part # of the plate.

Ok after very close inspection I have noticed two things.
1. There is a piece on the passenger side of the manifold that the carb was hitting. I turned it around and now the carb is not hitting anymore. 2. The gasket on the drivers side needed to be trimmed on the side just a hair. The carb was catching it. Ok maybe tomorrow night I will be able to get it running. Thanks again. |

Personnally, I would put an edelbrock carb on it. I put a brand new holly on and it leaked like a siv (spelling) and I lost HP. I can only think that it was jetted wrong but I haven't had time to look at it. I bought a new Edelbrock and it even looks better sitting up there. I'll try to get some pics for you.
