Cold air kit for chevy tahoe
I am just curious if anyone has any experience with either of these cold air kits or has any thoughts on them. I would really like a K&N kit but a bit too expensive so I thought about these for their price and they use a K&N filter.

Re: Cold air kit for chevy tahoe
I put a K&N Cold air kit on my 2005 Tahoe. Couldn't be more happy. But I also added a throttle body spacer, a tuner and a Flowmaster Cat back. So it was a bit more than just a CAK. It's my wife's car and she just loves how it sounds, mileage is significantly better too. Probably not a fair comparison to what you originally posted, but hey, at least you got a reply.

Re: Cold air kit for chevy tahoe
I have installed 4 CAI with stock configurations in theses trucks and I have never noticed significant increases in mpg, but they certainly do help on top end power. All 4 were Spectre systems, they were affordable and real quality pars. I ran into engine drones on a few of the installs. One 5.3 and one 6.0 both had a cabin drone from 2400 to 2800 rpm and it was annoying for passengers but the other 2 were 6.0Ls and there was no drone at all. I personally feel the biggest bang for the buck is just adding a K&N OE replacement filter in the stock system, you get better air and no risk of a drone. I think avoiding drone would be paramount for a people carrier, but that is just my $0.02.

Re: Cold air kit for chevy tahoe
I went with the K&N on my Tahoe and like it. I bought it used from a guy here in town that sold his truck. I picked up about a 1mpg avg with it.
