Here you go big chief....
I found a picture of this 700r4 for sale on ebay with new busing and rear seal...you can see the bushing up in there just behind the seal.
When I was googling i saw a kit with the bushing, rear seal, and a big oring for the tailshaft, so I know you aren't the first one this has happened to...It's just four bolts, so I think removing the thing is the way to go...
