Gas tank filler neck grommet

Question for the 71-72 Suburban owners.
I am restoring a '72 K10 & see where the rubber grommet that fits around
the gas filler neck was never present on mine. I assume they came with one, no ?
I bought one from LMC that states goes to the 71-71 trucks & tried to install it but it appears to be too large in diameter to fit.
Does anyone know if these Suburban's came with the grommet & if so where I can find one.
Thanks guys.

Re: Gas tank filler neck grommet

The only thing burbs have around the fuel filler for a seal, is a thick flat rubber washer that goes between the inner body and the fill tube.

Burbs don't use the thick rubber grommet that the PU's use.
