starter and flex 4 700R
I'm getting ready to in stall a 700R in my 66 sub it has a 327 in it need to buy flex plate and starter what year to buy. Thank you

My install was not a sub but its all the same... Best prices would be at Summit: Chevy flex plate 168 teeth (SUM-G100SFI) Universal Hitachi starter (SUM-829100). Works great with no issues...

I don't have much experience with the 700R4's, but I do believe all you need is an '85 and earlier 14" 168 tooth flexplate for an internally balanced small block. Then you will just need the correct starter for the 168 tooth flexplate, which will have the staggered bolts. Essentially these would be the same parts used for a TH350. The starter doobiebro linked to has the straight bolt pattern, but is drilled to work with either the 153 tooth flexplate or the 168 tooth.
