Re: Any thoughts???

is this what you already have? or what your planning to get. if you have it I would say it looks like a decent setup for dd. but if its what you intend to get I would say. ditch that engine and tranny combo and do a ls swap! far superior in power, economy, and reliability. oh yea id go with bigger tires lol

Re: Any thoughts???

-31's are already on the truck
-Have the 3.73/posi in a box (this weekend's project)
-Have an disassembled Gen I 350 long block in the garage (minus cam, to be decided upon later)
-700r4 seemed the right match for freeway driving with said 350?

Re: Any thoughts???

Sounds like a workable DD to me.You wont win any MPG awards but you shouldn't be too bad.I would look at building torque with the rebuild HP will take care of itself.Consider either the LS when needed or doing an EFI to help driveability.

Re: Any thoughts???

With that size tire and 3.73 gear, your really going to want that overdrive in there for highway driving. My two cents on the efi.... If you have one go with it, but if your thoughts are eventually to maybe go with an LS motor, than I'd hold off for now. save your money now and find an intake and quadrajet. You should be able to get stock for almost nothing and it'll work just fine for what your building. spend a few buck to have it rebuilt unless you already know how and you'll have a really great setup.
