1949 stake bed. . . Which wheels are right?

Hi everyone,
I'm trying to figure out which wheels are correct for my truck. When I bought it, it had 16 inch wheels on the front and 15 inch rims on the back. The 15 inch rims had the clips to hold on the hubcaps. I read that a 1949 3600 chevy should have either 15 inch or 17 inch wheels. I wanted to use the 15 inch wheels so I could use the hubcaps, so I got some tires mounted on the split rims and put them on (see photo below). Problem. . . The 15 inch rims fit great on the rear wheels, but they hit the steering arm on the front. Where can I get some rims that will fit on the front AND hold my hubcaps?

Thanks for any thoughts.

This is a pic of the wheels it had when I bought it. 16s on the front and 15s on the back. The front wheels don't have clips to hold my hubcaps.

This is a pic of the steering linkage hitting the 15 inch wheel.

I think they came with 16's and the 15's are earlier car wheels. My one ton had 17's.

First, you can readily buy the clips and install them yourself...but that won't help you any since the rims hit. I'd never have two diameter rims on any vehicle BUT if I were going to the larger rim would be in back

May I suggest you look for two more 16" rims OR a set of four matching rims. Then buy the clips then you can have your cake & eat it too!
