Nice 4000 rpm tach for 81-87 Chevy GMC truck equipped with a diesel. This will also work for a gas engine too. Cluster has no broken tabs and the printed circuit is good. 100 lb oil gauge. The instrument case in the lower left hand corner has a provision for a clock, air pressure or vacuum gauge (only on gas engines). Lens has minor scratches, otherwise good. Tach harness is mostly complete, brown wire goes to the distributor. Ask any question, thanks.

Wahl4m, the brown wire was in the main loom under the dash with a diesel. I cut on the other side of the connector, so you would have both male and female.

They used a magnetic pickup at the flywheel. Here are some scans of an old Chevy service bulletin showing how these tachometers are calibrated for various engine/flywheel/trans combinations:

There wasn't any jumper on the back. I think the engine was a Cummings.

Still for sale. I tested the tach with a 12 volt supply and the tach needle goes to zero as it should. This item will work with a diesel or gas engine with the correct aftermarket interface. LMK thanks Dave.
