Front 6.5 (TS-675)speakers are 60 watt nom. and 300 watt max the 6x9(TSA-6916) are 230watt max. and 40 watt nom.I thought I was putting together a pretty good system but somewhere along the line I messed up,could use some HELP here

Re: Hu and speakers
separate your front speakers into your kicks angled up will help a lot, both in the center is worst case scenario
that head unit is only pushing 22 watts to 4 channels, trying to get good sound without a sub and amp will be hard. you can buy a 5 channel amp with 50x4 for the speakers and 300 to a sub, even an 8'' sub will improve your bass

Re: Hu and speakers
Check sonicelectronix for pretty good deals on amps. I got a really nice 5 channel RE audio for only 225 and it has plenty of power. Unless you are doing competition it doesn't take much to make these cabs loud. I actually have my 6.5" speakers under the seat but with an amp behind them the audio is still clear as day.

Re: Hu and speakers
You'll never get a pretty built box to work. Even without the tank most just don't fit. Also if you don't have the time to fiberglass yourself there is a member on here who sells them with different size holes depending upon what speaker you have.

Re: Hu and speakers
Add an amp for sure, but keep in mind that more power won't necessarily make it sound cleaner. Sound deadening is one of the most time consuming things, though not expensive, and makes a huge difference, and is needed if your even going to consider adding a sub in these tin-can trucks.
In general, 6x9's are better at volume then they are at clarity.

Re: Hu and speakers
I like that spot for a sub. On a similar train of thought, I built 6.5" components and an amp into a functional center console. Killed two birds with one MDF stone. Pics are in my build....I'd re post them but Photobucket hates me for using too much bandwidth.

Re: Hu and speakers
What about putting small tweeters in the dash where the ac vents are angled up, and some 6 1/2" mids in the doors? I'm not a fan of the kick panel placement. Or, how about putting the two tweeters in the stock location in the center of the dash?

Re: Hu and speakers
Thanks Ogre ,I put the drvs. side a little lower to clear e-brake,I need to move dimmer switch up or right a coupla inches.Paint I used some Rustoleum hammered it blends in good with the rest of interior and seems pretty durable.
woodwright wouldn't that defeat the purpose of having A/C then where would you cool air come from.I much rather have kicks then cut my door but I did think about it.I figured this was the best place to put them ,plus I was kinda wanting to try my fiberglass skills.Had a buddy drop by today and gave me a little 100 watt amp so will hook it up this week.
