72 C20 leaf spring swap?

My '72 C20 is a leaf spring truck. I want a softer ride. Its not being used as a 3/4ton truck at this point in its life.

I have heard that C10 leaf springs are a different length and will not fit the C20.

Does anyone know of a leaf spring from a 1/2ton truck that will fit and provide a softer ride? Am I going to have to knock the rivets out of the spring hangers and move them and install C10 springs?

Thanks
Adam

when I removed the tow truck stuff from mine I got new leaf springs made by eaton Detroit spring...(mine is a 10)...I know the leaves are the same width cause I replaced some bad hangers with ones off a 20...but i'm not sure about the length....but maybe the tech guys at eaton Detroit could answer that for you...

pretty sure 1/2 and 3/4 are same length. I would verify with whatever spring carrier you want to use. I would not try to get used 1/2 ton springs. I would either remove leafs from your current pack and add a block to make up height. (fewer leafs softer ride) or if you want new spring you can do the same. make sure you buy new center bolts for spring pack as they cheap insurance if you scew one or both up suring teardown
