Cool 70 gmc drum to disc

(70 gmc) hey everyone, only my 4th time posting for info, i scanned the posts for a while but was unable to see a clear answer for a swap i want to do.i want to swap my manual drum front brakes to manual disc( i like the feel of a manual brake) i have a complete front end for a 71 with disc including crossmember and rear axles, can i bolt this crossmember right in to my truck complete using my dual reservoir master and proportioning valve (if im keeping manual brakes) and will the axles swap right in ????

thanks in advance!!!!

Re: 70 gmc drum to disc

I would use the master and prop valve off the manual disk set up. Everything else should bolt right up.

Re: 70 gmc drum to disc

disc and drum use different master cylinders. The master cylinder from a boosted truck will bolt right up to your firewall

For the rear axles, If you want to shoot me a PM, I'll help you measure and I can tell you for sure without having to take yours apart.
