17" wheels for a 68 SWB - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

We dropped a 68 yesterday. 2 1/2 drop spindles, 3" drop in the back. Converted it to front disc brakes. We were able to get it aligned pretty well. Customer wants 17" wheels. It is a 6 lug truck, and I am wanting to know what kind of backspacing we need for front and rear. Help from this great site is always appreciated.

The truck has 255/70r15 tires on a generic aluminium wheel, now and they rub the front tires on the inner fenders when going over a bump at speed.
