Ok boys! What is the best suspension upgrade for our trucks?

Adding a front sway bar makes a huge difference.

What year? Sway bar, disk brakes, new panhard bar/ trailing arm bushingss, the list could go on and on. Is your front end rebuilt? Ball joints, tie rods, a arms all nice and tight?

Sway bar.
Also, use the ECE drop mounts when putting it in. That way you won't hit curbs with it when parking.

Keep in mind that if there are any problems with your front end, a sway bar will find them quick.

I put a 1 ton sway bar in my truck, and a week later I was finding out that my ball joints and upper/lower control arm shafts were all shot... All Moog now.

1st= Disc brakes, if u don't have them.
2nd= front sway bar
3rd= rear shock locator behind the trailing arms 'no limits' is the one I have.
4th= rear sway bar
5th= rear disc brakes
Just my opinion.
New bushings is a regular maintance issue and no upgrades to me as with a lowered are full height sitting truck.

Totally agree with Andy on daily driver, every day street machine. (most practical)

If you're going More Serious, ignoring budget, full frame, chrome moly tubular upper and lower control arms, ground control coil overs, Eibach springs, KYB-AGXs, rack & pinion, 13" discs (front) 9 inch Ford rear with discs. new rear leaf spring packages, urethane bushings throughout, big sway bars front and rear, adjustable heim links.

Thanks guys! Been having issues logging in the past few days. My truck has front discs. I am getting ready to do new bushings, ball joints, and such. Trying to decide ride hight ie to lower or not to lower. I appreciate the guidance.

What is the benefit to the rear shock relocating? I thought it came in to play only when lowering?

quality front and rear sway bars , and quality bushing for the same , the stock front is not bad but if your bushing are gone its useless , add a rear and get good bushings

The rear shock kit that I bought moves the shocks to the outside of the frame. When cornering u can tell a differance. Not near the body roll. I have removed my rear bar since the relocator was going to hit it. I was worried at first but now it's fine without it. Checkout the link.

Lowering your truck will improve handling also ' if you go with the cpp kit ask about their shocks , mine are a few months old and leak , i would not purchace them again , they leak bad

Just opinion from another Old Fart. I'm 6'-2" 275 Lbs.

With my 68 GMC SWB at stock ride height, I always had to pull myself up, using the steering wheel, onto the bench seat. Working under-hood I had to use a step stool and still could barely reach the carb on my V8, while laying over the radiator support, being stabbed in the belly by the hood latch.

NOW after a 2-1/2" front drop and 2 inch rear drop, working under hood is NICE, like working on a Chevelle, standing on the ground I can reach anything under-hood including the firewall. It's also really nice to simply open the door now and slide in, more like a full size car too.

I think the three biggest things that made the best improvement in my trucks ride were the shocks, front sway bar and alignment. I'm not sure if you can find a shop that has the ability but heres a thread I posted on the best way to get the best alignment. Even if their machine doesn't have this function its still the best and only way to do it as far as I'm concerned.
