Angry Superseal / Counterpart window felts DON'T FIT!

I thought I was through with the nightmare of making repro parts fit on my wrecker project but had one last thing to install. The window felts.

I actually got one inner felt installed but the other 3 do not fit! The clips do not line up with the holes in the door. I checked my other trucks and the holes are the same.

I think this might be the same company I had problems with on the windshield gasket that cost me a fortune for a glass company to deal with!

Anyone else use this brand and have problems?

Now I have to find a way to reposition the clips and that's gonna be real fun! They seem to be almost stapled in. ??

One the pack it says "Certified" and then "original fit". I don't think so!

What a bunch of !@#$#@!#@!!@!

Not to ask a dumb question, but are you sure you dont have them swapped side for side? I would send them back and try another brand /vendor. I just did mine and the clips dont look like they can be moved.

Yeah, I tried every conceivable way but no go.

I bought these back in the beginning when I started this resto almost 3 years ago so doubt I could return them now.

Modifying them is about all I can think of.

Precision is the only brand to go with for weatherstripping. GMCPaul and Wes carry it. Costs more, but fits like a glove as it should. Throw the other stuff in the trash.

Yep, I have installed lots of weatherstrip and there is a reason we sell Precision. Counterpart sells soft seal & superseal. WES

Re: Superseal / Counterpart window felts DON'T FIT!

Thanks guys. From now on, I'll ask ahead of time for that brand only.

I think I got these from Classic parts but it's been a while so not sure.

+1

For going through Wes. Great parts and customer service. I don't mind spending a little more if I know its going to fit right the first time.

Re: Superseal / Counterpart window felts DON'T FIT!

Some years ago, when I had my glass business I carried Precision for a short time, we had many problems with their made in Thailand stuff, rubber separation after a couple days, windshield gasket fitment off etc. Maybe things have changed. I prefer T&N if available
