Re: Tail light gas filler

I'm planning on doing this with a 40 gal suburban tank. I want to set up the dual tanks on my truck so that one pulls from the side tank, which will have diesel, and the other from a tank at the rear, which will have WVO.

Just a little info for you guys who may not be familiar:
In order to run veggie oil it's neescessary to warm up the motor first, then you can switchover. Since I'd be running the oil for 90% of the time it makes sense to have a bigger tank. I'm also thinking of re-routing the filler for the saddle tank and putting it in the wheel well.

Re: Tail light gas filler

you might want to think about getting a poly tank for that 40 gallon burb tank...the metal tank will form a 'chicken skin' so to speak on the inside of it....just fyi...

I'm planning on doing the same thing on my truck also...

how exactly did you do the two tank setup without the switching valve...is it self fill the other tank by itself, or do you have to do it youself

Re: Tail light gas filler

I plan on doing it with the stock switching valve. I thought about putting a temp switch on the engine to activate the valve so it would automatically switch once it was up to temp. I haven't really looked into that, yet.

Well you don't really move the taillight to get to it. It's above the taillight on the fin.

X2?
A kit would be great to put together. I planned on going with the 31 gallon blazer tank in my 74 GMC fleetside and was wondering where to locate the filler neck.

x3. IŽd be interested in that oo. Especially if there was a easy bolt or weld on kit to do this.
