Re: Found a 2002 Corvette LS1 for the Shortbox

Going with a 700R4, either 373 or 411 gears and 1800-2200 converter. Just want something to keep it from jumping in gear.

I will tub the rear to make room for the 305/35/24 rubber with the truck being on the ground.

I also moved my motor back 1 inch so that the trans bolted up in the factory location thus shifting more weight to the rear. I weighed my truck with corner scales and this is what i ended up with. All aluminum ls1, 1/2 tank gas, no driver. This is my normal daily weight..

that was one of my choices deal fell thru.. Im happy with this one. I passed up a 468 big block for this one. Already had my.suspension parts and didnt feel like upgrading for a bigblock

Re: Found a 2002 Corvette LS1 for the Shortbox

I hear ya. Should still be a fun truck! i love mine! Actually just put a cam in it today. not very happy with the sound, if you listen close then you can kinda tell it has something in it.. a buddy is going to order the cam i want and we will just trade. He has a 383 ls1 he is putting into an 87 astro van for a daily but he does not want a chop. Wants is to sound and drive like stock except have a lot of torque and be very zippy and fast stop light to stop light. so this cam should be the ticket for him.

Re: Found a 2002 Corvette LS1 for the Shortbox

It's a comp 54-455-11... I'm looking at getting the comp 54-457-11 this time. It should giv me the sound I'm after with the performance and drive ability I want without sacrificing reliability and economy.

Re: Found a 2002 Corvette LS1 for the Shortbox

haha yeah, .590 lift and 220 duration is a baby cam that will probably sound like stock with no chop.. It is not uncommon to see 114-121 lsa also..

Re: Found a 2002 Corvette LS1 for the Shortbox

just got off the phone with the guy I bought it from...

he said..

I can swear he said roller everything and...6.0L

after talking to his engine builder on 3way
comp roller cam, comp springs, locks and retainers
stock rockers

but its a ported head, came with Edelbrock Perf RPM intake and MSD setup..

he left the motor mount adapter brackets on it to... He swears he didnt tell me it was a 6.0 though. I looked at all out text messages and couldnt find it.. so I guess this another lesson learned
