Found the issue...Rebuild time
So I have been blowing blue smoke out of number 2 cylinder head for awhile now....didn't make any noise and ran pretty good down the road at 60.
Rebuilding the 396/402 with an RV cam and stepping up the compression. Shooting for 350 to 385 Hp....Keeping it stock looking.

I bent a push rod once. It was an error on my part since I put a bolt in the intake that was a bit too long. Always a good time to do upgrades!

Actually broke the pushrod.
Crazy how good it still ran.

Fat motor torque. Sometimes it's hard to tell if it ain't actually up to snuff, unless you are paying really close attention.

Is it just my eyes or is there a lobe wiped on the same cylinder too? Nice looking truck that's worthy of rebuilding that stock big block.
