Where does this connector go?
Hi all, I have an 87 Chevy R10 with a 5.7L 700 R4 just wondering if you guys know what this electrical connector goes to? Im sure the picture explains most of it but its a green wire running along the top of the firewall. At the end of the wire there is a black 90 degree angle connector with two prongs. I believe it is a female connector but not positive thanks in advance!

Re: Where does this connector go?
Seems like the pressure sensor for the AC system was a green wire in that location, but my connector looked different on my old '86. Is there a connection already plugged into the AC drier right near there???

Re: Where does this connector go?
Thanks for the quick reply. So heres another pic. I think I included the one you were talking about. It was connected to the silver canister in the AC system. There is the 4 way connector on the AC box with a black wire, orange wire, and two blue wires. Then there is a relay looking box under the 4 way connector that has a one way purple wire shooting out of it. All of these are connected in the correct place minus the green one I just unplugged to give you a better look.
I have a feeling it goes lower since it is pretty dirty with gravel dust and such. I just cant find anything it would plug into. The only electrical things on that side of the engine that I know of are the start moter and solenoid and the engine knock sensor which are all correctly hooked up. I am confused :/ Thanks again! |

Re: Where does this connector go?
The wire draped over the evaporator box in the first picture is for the compressor clutch. It normally would run along the side of the valve cover to the compressor. It is probably very dirty and greasy from laying on the intake manifold next to a leaky valve cover gasket most of it's life.

Re: Where does this connector go?
Thanks kalbert! After looking at the air compress clutch I cannot seem to find the place to plug it in though. Probably the reason why I could not find it in the first place? can you point me in the right direction? Thanks!

Re: Where does this connector go?
Standing in front of the truck, here are a couple of snap shots to help. It's actually on the front of the compressor, not the back or side.
