Beast from the NorthEast

Hey everyone!

Im new to this forum and i'm really looking forward to seeing what it has to offer for myself and my truck.

Here's a little history of my truck:
I have a 1972 GMC stepside. It's been in the family for a long time.
My uncle restored it years ago but unfortunatly passed away of the terrible disease of cancer back in 1995, if my memory serves me right. His wife, my aunt, therefore sold the truck at the time to my dad for a price he couldnt refuse. When i bought my house in 2007, guess what was passed down to me as a little house warming gift. I've had a smile on my face ever since.

I havent had much time or money to put into this truck, so i just drove it around minimally. Now im looking into making some changes of my own and i and hoping to get inspired from this website.

Nick

Re: Beast from the NorthEast

Welcome Nick, that is a nice 4 eye you have there. I know the feeling and my father passed of cancer in 1995. We built a 1970 short wide together and it is a priceless memory.

You will find a lot of great people here to offer advise and support for any thing you need.

Aso there is a nice parts board for those hard to find parts you may need. Tons of knowledge here.

Good luck and enjoy,
Tom

That's a good question "badpurple70chevy" . To be honest I don't know much of the history of the truck. I was much younger when my uncle passed away, so I did not have the opportunity to ask him any questions about it. All I remember is him doing donuts with it, with me in the passenger seat.
But I guess I already learned something new today about my truck. In doing some research on the internet the box sure looks more like a 66 Chevy than a 72 gmc, so I believe you were right.

Thank you

Re: Beast from the NorthEast

I like the blacked out grill. It makes the front of the truck seem to recede into the engine compartment under the hood. The bright wheels then make the truck appear even wider.

My '69 LWB Fleetside will never look that sexy.

Re: Beast from the NorthEast

Welcome to the boards!! Nice GMC. Lots can be learned from this site. It's funny, this guy near to here had a '57 Chevy pickup with a 67-72 Stepside bed on it. That didn't look too bad, either
