rack and pinion???

im building a 50 chevy pickup with 5.3 4l60e, mustang ll, should i use a manual rack or power?

Power is the only way to go, I've had both manual and power, is so much nicer with the power....Jim

I suggest power also, and as Hart_Rod said, if you don't know, you will probably be finding yourself adding it later. We are a Unisteer dealer, so let us know if you we can help you out with any of the parts.

If you like things simple and less to buy or replace do to failure down the road and don't mind using two hands to steer from a stop and plan on using the orignal big steering wheel go manual.
If you don't mind spending a few extra bucks and want to steer with ease at will go with a power rack.
My 68c10 is manual and has the original wheel and I don't have a problem backing a trailer is a whole other story.
